QAYG and Piecing Method, Nametag Challenge; September 2015

Our program this month was given by Sharon on the Quilt as You Go (QAYG) flip and sew method. She also showed a great method to piece the quilted blocks together using strips. There are several methods. Everyone enjoyed the presentation, and there was great interaction with the members.

Here is a video of a piecing method that is similar at Gourmet Quilter: here.

Here is a great example of modern QAYG quilt.

The block lottery for the month is:

Wonky Improv Log Cabin

Bring your blocks to the next meeting to receive a lottery ticket. The ticket gives you a chance to win all the blocks,
or choose to use your ticket for one of our participation giveaways such as notions, fabric, or books.
Find the tutorial for the improv modern log cabin here or under the block lottery tab above.

Our 1st Name Tag Challenge

The name tags from our members were very creative. You all did a fabulous job.

Heart to Heart Quilt for Liz

Our guild members made this amazing  heart to heart quilt for a fellow member of our guild.
It was presented to her, and she love it.
The meeting was a huge success, and we thank you for making our guild such a wonderful place to meet every month to learn new techniques, see your quilts, and get to know all of you. Please join us for our next meeting at A&E Pharmacy in Pensacola, October 24th @10:00 a.m. You can find more of our quilting photos on Flickr here.
