Triangles; July 2015

Our program this month was about the Sidekick Ruler by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts.
We learned how to use it to cut perfect equilateral triangles, and looked at some of the patterns
that she has written that are made to go with it.
This is the Jaybird Quilts Sidekick Ruler:

Our block of the month was created using this ruler:

First Official Guild Challenge!!!
Make yourself a name tag.
Check out our Pinterest board for some great ideas:
Follow Pensacola's board Name Tag Ideas on Pinterest.

We want you to use your imagination, get creative and go crazy! Use fabric, ribbon, applique, embroidery, etc. and make your name large enough to read from a few steps away if possible. You can also use Sharpie brand marker to write on your fabric, just set the ink with a hot iron after writing. First names only, please.
There are lots of techniques and tutorials available for making guild name tags. Bring and show your homemade, fabric name tag at the August 29th meeting and get an extra participation ticket for our giveaways.
